Ingredientes

  • 1 c. Butter or possibly margarine, softened
  • 1 c. Powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp Almond Extract
  • 1 x Egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c. Flour
  • 1 tsp Salt

Direcciones

  1. Mix together all the aboue ingredients. Divide dough into 2 wqual parts. Add in 1 tsp. red food coloring to one part (or possibly use 1 tsp. green food coloring if you want to make green and white canes) cover work bowl and chill for at least 4 hrs.
  2. For each candy cane, use a heaping tsp. of white dough and a heaping tsp. of red dough, roll each color individually into about a 4 inch rope. Then twist one white and one red rope together to create a cane and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Be sure to curve the top, completing the formation of a candy cane.
  3. Bake at 375 for 9 to 12 min, or possibly till they begin to lightly brown. Immediately sprinkle lightly with granulated sugar. To avoid breaking cookies, let cold for a few min on cookie sheet before attempting ro remove cookies.
