Ingredientes

  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking pwdr
  • 6 Tbsp. butter or possibly margarine
  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 x egg
  • 1 Tbsp. lowfat milk
  • 1 tsp grated orange peel
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 25 x maraschino cherries halved and well-liquid removed

Direcciones

  1. Combine flour and baking pwdr. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and shortening till butter is softened. Add in sugar and beat till fluffy. Add in egg, lowfat milk, orange peel and vanilla; beat well. Add in flour mix and beat till well-mixed. Cover and refrigerateabout 30 min, or possibly till easy to handle. Shape into two 8-inch rolls. Wrap and refrigeratefor several hrs or possibly overnight.
  2. Cut dough into 1/4 inch slices. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Place a cherry on the bottom half of each slice for bell clapper. Mix in sides of slice, overlapping at top and slightly covering cherry. Healthy pinch in sides to resemble bell shape. Bake in 350-degree oven for 12-14 min, or possibly till done. Remove from cookie sheets and cold.
