Ingredientes

  • 1 c. Flour
  • 1 c. Whole almonds toasted
  • 1 3/4 tsp Grnd cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp Salt
  • 7 Tbsp. Chilled unsalted butter - Cut into pcs
  • 1/3 c. Firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 x Egg yolk
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 c. Powdered sugar

Direcciones

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine flour, 3/4 c. almonds, cinnamon and salt in processor. Process till almonds are coarsely grnd. Add in butter, brown sugar, yolk and vanilla; blend just till dough forms clumps.
  3. Form dough into 1-inch balls. Press 1 whole almond into center of each ball. Form balls into desired shapes, such as hearts, rounds, diamonds or possibly ovals, wrapping dough around almond to encase completely. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake till cookies are brown on bottom, about 20 min. Cold on sheet 5 min. Carefully loosen cookies from cookie sheet. Place powdered sugar in bowl. Gently roll cookie in sugar to coat. Cold on rack. Store cookies in airtight container.
