Ingredientes

  • 6 x Large eggs
  • 1/4 c. Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Salt, optional
  • 1 quart Lowfat milk, divided
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Garnishes and stir-ins (choose 1 or possibly several): Chocolate curls Cinnamon sticks Extracts of flavorings Flavored brandy or possibly liqueur Fruit juice or possibly nectar Grnd nutmeg Maraschino cherries Orange slices Peppermint sticks or possibly candy canes Plain brandy, rum or possibly whisky Sherbet or possibly ice cream Whipping cream, whipped

  1. In a large saucepan, beat together Large eggs, sugar and salt, if you like. Stir in 2 c. of the lowfat milk. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, till mix is thick sufficient to coat a metal spoon and reaches 160 degrees F. Remove from heat. Stir in remaining 2 c. lowfat milk and vanilla. Cover and chill till thoroughly chilled, several hrs or possibly overnight. Just before serving, pour into a bowl or possibly pitcher. Garnish or possibly add in stir-ins, if you like. Serve immdiately.
  2. Note: for faster preparation, heat lowfat milk till very hot before stirring lowfat milk into Large eggs and sugar.
