Ingredientes

  • 1 1/2 c. Dates
  • 3/4 c. Water
  • 1/4 c. Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Lemon juice
  • 2 c. Pillsbury's Best All Purpose Flour*
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 3/4 c. Firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 c. Butter
  • 1 c. Coconut, minced
  • 1/2 c. Funsten's Nuts, minced

Direcciones

  1. For use with Pillsbury's Best Self-Rising Flour, omit salt. BAKE at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 min.
  2. MAKES about 3 dozen. Combine dates, water and sugar in saucepan. Bring to boil. Simmer, stirring constantly, till thick.
  3. Remove from heat. Stir in lemon juice. Sift together the flour, salt, and stir in the brown sugar. Cut into the dry mix the butter till mix resembles coarse crumbs. Stir n coconut and nuts. Press half of crumb mix in the bottom of a greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Spread with the filling. Sprinkle with the remaining crumb mix; press down lightly.
  4. Bake in a moderate oven (350 degrees) 30 to 35 min. Cold; cut into bars.
