Receta COPING WITH HEAT: Citrus PT. I
It was 89 degrees yesterday in New York. Although I grew up in Southern California, I STILL am not acclimated to hot weather, not to mention humidity. If there is one thing I can't deal with well, it's summer. It seems to be coming quicker than I imagined.
Since this weird hot spell, I can only think about cold beverages and citrus. I was never really into lemonade, but sometimes you just need something incredibly refreshing. This lemonade is just that.
BLUEBERRY MEYER LEMONADE:
Serves 4 Prep Time: 20 minutes
- 4 Meyer Lemons
- 4 Lemons, any type
- 1/4c Agave Nectar
- 1 Carton Blueberries
- 3/4c Filtered Water
1. Wash and halve all lemons thoroughly.
2. Use electronic or hand held juicer to juice all lemons.
3. Add lemon juice to blender with most of the carton of blueberries, but leave some for garnishing glasses.
4. Blend thoroughly until there are only blueberry "specs". Add Agave nectar and pulse to distribute thoroughly.
5. Garnish glasses with a few blueberries each, ice and lemon zest. Enjoy!
*For a nighttime cocktail, add one shot glass of your favorite liquor (my choice: vodka)*
