Ingredientes

  • 1/2 c. yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 c. oat bran
  • 1/2 c. skim lowfat milk
  • 1/4 c. minced onion
  • 1/4 c. minced green bell pepper
  • 1 x egg white
  • 1 tsp baking pwdr
  • 1/8 tsp grnd allspice
  • 1/8 tsp freshly grnd black pepper

Direcciones

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F degrees.
  2. Blend all ingredients and pour into a small (8 X 4-inch) nonstick loaf pan.
  3. Bake for 35 min, or possibly till a knife inserted in the center of the bread comes clean.
  4. NOTE: The oat bran makes this a most healthful and enjoyable accompaniment to any meal.
  5. VARIATIONS:*Using l/2 c. fresh corn kernels in place of the onion and bell pepper is a tasty alternative.*The addition of 1/4 tsp. cayenne will add in a nice bit of spice to this bread.
