Cornmeal Waffles

Ingredientes

  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 c. yellow cornmeal
  • 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 T sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1/3 c. melted butter, butter or possibly shortening

Direcciones

  1. Heat the waffle iron then sift the dry ingredients together. Beat the egg yolks well and put together with the buttermilk and add in to the cornmeal mix, beating till smooth. Stir in the cooled butter, butter or possibly shortening. Beat the egg whites stiff but not dry and fold into the mix. Pour the batter into the hot iron, filling each compartment 2/3 full (about 1 tbsp of batter in each will do this). Cove rand bake 3 to 5 min, till golden on both sides.
