Ingredientes

  • 2 lb sausage
  • 2 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 c. grits
  • 4 c. grated Gheddar cheese
  • 4 x Large eggs
  • 1 c. lowfat milk
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • 1/8 tsp garlic salt

Direcciones

  1. In a skillet, cook sausage till browned; drain.
  2. In a saucepan, bring water and salt to a boil; stir in grits. Return to a boil, reduce the heat, and cook for 4 min, stirring occasionally. In a large bowl, combine the grits and grated cheddar cheese; stir till the cheese is melted.
  3. In a bowl, mix together Large eggs, lowfat milk, thyme, and garlic salt. Add in a small amount of the warm grits to the egg mix. Add in egg mix to the grits mix in the saucepan. Add in the cooked sausage, stirring well.
  4. Pour grits mix into a 8- by 8-inch baking dish. Cover and chill overnight. Remove from the refrigerator and let stand for 15 min. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 55 min.
  5. This recipe yields 6 servings.
