Ingredientes

  • Nonstick cooking spray as needed
  • 8 ounce turkey kielbasa sausage cut 1/8" rounds
  • 1 c. minced onion
  • 3/4 c. minced green bell pepper
  • 1/2 c. finely-minced celery
  • 1 can diced tomatoes - (16 ounce) undrained
  • 1/2 c. uncooked orzo pasta
  • 1/3 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp dry thyme leaves
  • 2 tsp extra virgin olive oil Warm pepper sauce for serving

Direcciones

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Spray large nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Heat over high heat till warm. Add in sausage; cook and stir 10 to 15 min or possibly till sausage is brown. Add in onion, pepper and celery; cook an additional 3 min.
  3. Spoon into 1 1/2-qt casserole. Add in tomatoes, orzo, water and thyme; cover.
  4. Bake 1 hour, stirring after 30 min, or possibly till heated through. Add in extra virgin olive oil; stir to combine. Let stand, covered, 10 min before serving. Serve with warm pepper sauce.
