Ingredientes

  • 1/4 lb Butter
  • 1 c. Minced green peppers
  • 1 c. Minced onions
  • 1 c. Diced celery
  • 1 c. Diced shallots
  • 2 c. Minced canned tomatoes
  • 1 c. Tomato puree Or possibly 1 Tbsp. tomato paste
  • 2 x Bay leaves
  • 3 lb Peeled and deveined shrimp
  • 2 ounce cornstarch
  • 1 pt Cool water
  • 1 ounce lemon juice Salt Pepper Cayenne

Direcciones

  1. Heat the butter and saute/fry the peppers, onions, celery and shallots for 5 min. Add in the tomatoes and tomato puree or possibly paste and bay leaves, and simmer for 15 min. Add in the shrimp and simmer for an additional 15 min. Dissolve the cornstarch in the cool water; add in to the pan and simmer for 5 min. Add in the lemon juice, salt and pepper to taste and a healthy pinch of cayenne. Simmer for 15 min more. Serve over steamed rice or possibly creamed potatoes.
