%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20loved%20this%20stuff%20and%20hope%20you%20like%20what%20you%20see%20and%20what%20you%20make%20at%20home%20too.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMethod%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECrabs%20need%20to%20be%20used%20immediately%20after%20cleaning%20-%20so%20we%20make%20the%20masala%20first%20and%20then%20do%20the%20rest.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20Big%20Karahi%20or%20Wok%20-%20dry%20roast%20the%20coriander%20seeds,%20peppercorns,%20cinnamon%20and%20kashimiri%20chilis.%20Once%20they%20leave%20an%20aroma%20add%201%20TBS%20Coconut%20oil%20and%20add%20the%201/2%20cup%20sliced%20onions%20along%20with%20the%2010%20cloves%20of%20garlic%20(chopped).%20Fry%20%20till%20the%20onions%20turn%20a%20nice%20golden%20brown.%20Add%20the%20shredded%20coconut%20and%20let%20the%20mixture%20mix%20well%20and%20saute%20till%20you%20get%20the%20aroma%20of%20roasted%20coconut.%20Take%20it%20off%20the%20flame%20add%20the%20tamarind%20paste%20and%20let%20it%20cool.%20Once%20cooled%20down%20-%20grind%20it%20to%20a%20fine%20paste%20adding%20very%20little%20water%20just%20to%20ease%20the%20grinding%20process.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWash%20and%20Clean%20the%20crabs%20and%20let%20them%20sit%20on%20a%20plate.%20In%20the%20same%20Wok%20or%20Karahi%20add%20the%20other%201%20TBS%20coconut%20oil.%20When%20the%20oil%20gets%20hot%20add%20the%20curry%20leaves%20and%20the%20slit%20green%20chilis%20and%20in%20about%2010%20seconds%20add%20the%20onions%20and%20saute%20till%20they%20turn%20transparent.%20To%20this%20add%20the%20turmeric%20powder,%20chili%20powder,%20garam%20masala%20powder%20and%20mix%20well.%20Add%20the%20ground%20masala%20mixture%20and%20mix%20well.%20If%20you%20feel%20that%20the%20mixture%20is%20too%20thick%20add%20just%20about%201/4%20cup%20water%20and%20salt%20to%20taste%20and%20mix%20well.%20Add%20the%20crabs%20and%20cover%20each%20crab%20piece%20with%20the%20masala%20mixture.%20Cover%20and%20cook%20for%20about%205%20to%2010%20minutes.%20Once%20the%20shells%20of%20the%20crab%20turn%20a%20nice%20orange%20you%20now%20crab%20is%20cooked.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20the%20masala%20is%20watery%20-%20just%20heat%20the%20mixture%20uncovered%20for%20another%202%20to%205%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGarnish%20with%20chopped%20Cilantro%20and%20serve%20hot%20with%20Parathas%20and%20salad.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you%20are%20anything%20like%20us%20-%20you%20will%20not%20have%20parathas%20or%20rice%20-%20just%20plain%20crab%20chettinad%20along%20with%20salad.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
