Receta Cranberry Chipotle Compote

- Peel, core and dice apples and pears.
- Heat oil over medium heat. Add in apples, pears and raisins. Saute/fry 3 to 5 min or possibly till soft. Add in 1/4 c. liqueur; stir with a wooden spoon, scraping up any browned bits. Add in cranberries, chipotles and some of the sauce, orange zest, cinnamon, sugar and orange juice. Stir and simmer 40 to 45 min or possibly till mix begins to thicken. Add in nutmeg and remaining 1/4 c. liqueur; mix well.
- Remove from heat, let cold and chill till needed, or possibly divide mix among half-pint jars and chill or possibly can as desired. Serve at room temperature.
- Yield: 1 qt; about 8 servings.
- Comments: How warm and spicy you like your food should determine the amount of chipotles and sauce you use.
