Receta Cravings…
by Marlow

Rarely do I look forward to a bowl of oatmeal. Now don’t get me wrong, I have made some AMAZING bowls and, as I was eating them, they made me fully happy! (and super excited)

Example 4: (And my absolute favorite!!) Cheesecake BABY!!!

But I don’t crave oats.

I crave hash browns. And bacon. And pancakes with syrup. And sausage. And eggs with cheese. And Jill’s egg benedict with hollandaise sauce.

But when I saw this baby on sale at Harris Teeter:

I immediately thought about oats!! Exotic Coconut Almond is my FAVORITE Bora Bora bar, and I knew that it would give an incredible crunch to an oat bowl.

In the mix: 1/3 cup Bob’s Red Mill gluten free rolled oats, 1/3 cup skim milk, 1/3 cup water, 1/2 tbsp. chia powder, 1/3 banana sliced and whipped, topped with 1/2 Exotic Almond Crunch Bora Bora bar!

Good morning sunshine!

And while yes, a BIG plate of hash browns would be DELICIOUS, it would leave me hungry an hour later. This bowl leaves me full for four hours! PLUS it makes me feel healthy and strong. And I’m always more likely to make good food choices for the rest of the day!

Funnily enough, writing this post made me realize how much I really do love oats. Even when I’m not craving them, I still make them. My cravings are a lying scumbag that try to get me off track. They say things like, “You should make those gluten free mozzarella sticks. Nothing else will make you happy.”

Liar.

But I find that with positive reinforcement, faking it till’ I make it, and repetition, I am slowly but surely changing my cravings.

Do you get cravings? Naughty or nice?
