Cream Cheese Pastry Dough

Ingredientes

  • 1 c. cake flour, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (plus 1 T sugar for sprinkling on top)
  • Healthy pinch of salt
  • 1/4 c. chilled no fat cream cheese
  • 4 teaspoon light butter
  • 2 1/2 to 3 T skim lowfat milk (plus 1 T for glaze)

Direcciones

  1. Mix flour, 1 tsp sugar and salt. With pastry cutter, cut cream cheese and butter into flour mix till crumbly. With fork, stir in sufficient lowfat milk till clumped together. Press the dough into a circle, wrap in plastic and chill for at least 1/2 hour. (Can be made ahead and stored up to 2 days).On floured surface, roll pastry to 1/8" thickness. Carefully place over fruit and tuck edges. Brush top with lowfat milk and sprinkle 1 tbsp sugar over. Cut several slashes for steam vents.
  2. Bake about 45 min at 350 degrees or possibly till pastry is golden brown and filling is bubbly.
  3. Cool slightly and serve with "fat free" ice cream or possibly frzn yogurt.
