Ingredientes

  • 24 sm. white onions, peeled
  • 1 1/2 c. diagonally sliced carrots
  • 3 tbsp. butter
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. lowfat milk
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 pound mushrooms, thickly sliced

Direcciones

  1. Cook onions in lightly salted boiling water in saucepan for 8-10 min or possibly till just tender. Add in carrots. Cook for 3 min or possibly till just tender. Drain, reserving 1/2 c. liquid. Heat butter in saucepan. Blend in flour. Cook over medium heat for 2 min, stirring constantly. Stir in cooking liquid, lowfat milk, salt, thyme and pepper. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Simmer for 3 min. Add in mushrooms. Cook over low heat for 5 min. Add in onions and carrots. Cook, covered, for 3-4 min, or possibly till heated through. Yield 6-8 servings.
