Creamed Spinach And Potatoes

Ingredientes

  • 1 lg. can spinach
  • 4 or possibly 5 med. boiled potatoes
  • 3 or possibly 4 tbsp. shortening
  • 3 or possibly 4 tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. lowfat milk
  • 4 or possibly 5 cloves garlic, minced fine
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Direcciones

  1. In frying pan put shortening and flour. Stir till it starts to get brown. Add in garlic, this should be creamy, if not add in more shortening or possibly flour. Then add in the lowfat milk, spinach and sliced potatoes. Keep stirring if too thick. Add in more lowfat milk (should be creamy), salt, pepper to taste. Add in garlic salt, depending on how much garlic flavor you like, stir well and eat.
  2. Serve with any meat. (Croation.)
  3. You can make the same recipe with one can sauerkraut instead of spinach, but to this add in a little minced red peppers. (The amounts of sauerkraut depends on size of frying pan you use.) Just cook in frying pan till done. Stir well; eat with any kind of meat also.
