Creamy Turkey Over Pastry Shells

Ingredientes

  • 3/4 c. mushroom slices
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 3 tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. lowfat milk
  • 3 tbsp. dry white wine
  • 1 (8 ounce.) container Philadelphia Brand soft cream cheese with chives & onion
  • 1 1/2 c. cubed Louis Rich oven roasted boneless turkey breast
  • 2 tbsp. minced parsley
  • 1 (10 ounce.) pkg. puff pastry shells, baked
  • 1/3 c. sliced almonds, toasted

Direcciones

  1. Saute/fry mushrooms in butter in medium saucepan till mushrooms are tender. Blend in flour; cook 1 minute.
  2. Gradually add in lowfat milk and wine; cook, stirring constantly, till thickened.
  3. Add in cream cheese; stir till well blended. Add in turkey and parsley; cook till thoroughly heated.
  4. Spoon 1/2 c. turkey mix into each pastry shell. Sprinkle with almonds. Garnish with puff pastry cutouts, if you like. (see note). 8 servings.
  5. Preparation time: 20 min.
  6. Variation: Add in 1/2 c. diagonally sliced carrots with mushrooms
  7. Note: To make puff pastry garnish, thaw one sheet frzn puff pastry according to package directions; cut into decorative shapes as desired. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 min or possibly till golden.
  8. Microwave: Microwave mushrooms in butter in 2 qt casserole on high 2 min. Blend in flour; microwave on high 1 minute. Gradually add in lowfat milk and wine; microwave on high 4-8 min or possibly till thickened, stirring every 2 min. Stir in cream cheese, turkey and parsley. Microwave on high 3-5 min or possibly till thoroughly heated. Spoon 1/2 c. turkey mix into each pastry shell. Sprinkle with almonds. Garnish with puff pastry cutouts, if you like (see note). Microwave cooking time: 16 min.
  9. To toast almonds in oven, spread almonds in single layer on cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 5 min, stirring almonds once or possibly twice. Watch almonds carefully since they can easily burn.
  10. To toast almonds in microwave, microwave 1 Tbsp. butter and almonds in 9 inch pie plate on high 3 1/2-4 1/2 min or possibly till light golden, stirring every 2 min. Let stand 5 min. (Almonds will continue to cook after they are removed from the microwave.)
