%20with%20fried%20gnocchi,%20artichoke%20and%20ricotta.%20Another%20winner.%20Carefully%20balanced%20flavours%20and%20textures%20and%20again,%20as%20visually%20delightful%20as%20it%20was%20delicious.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETime%20for%20the%20third%20course;%20wild%20mushroom%20risotto%20%E2%80%93%20creamy%20and%20unctuous%20%E2%80%93%20served%20with%20a%20single,%20perfectly%20crisp%20slice%20of%20pancetta%20and%20a%20deep%20fried%20risotto%20ball.%20I%20have%20eaten%20my%20fair%20share%20of%20these%20in%20Italy%20%E2%80%93%20where%20my%20grandmother%20was%20from%20they%20are%20known%20as%20suppli,%20more%20commonly%20they%E2%80%99re%20known%20as%20arancini.%20No%20matter%20the%20name,%20they%20were%20among%20the%20best%20I%20have%20ever%20eaten.%20Perfectly%20crisp%20on%20the%20outside%20and%20meltingly%20rich%20on%20the%20inside.%20A%20triumph%20of%20a%20dish.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOut%20came%20the%20fourth%20course;%20fritto%20misto%20served%20with%20salsa%20verde%20and%20almond%20aioli.%20Wonderfully%20light%20and%20crisp%20fried%20langoustine,%20calamari,%20and%20other%20morsels,%20perfectly%20accompanied%20by%20its%20two%20delicious%20sauces.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnto%20the%20fifth%20course;%20this%20time%20oxtail%20rag%C3%B9%20with%20home-made%20tagliatelle.%20This%20dish%20was%20faultless.%20The%20sauce%20was%20rich,%20deep%20and%20full%20of%20flavour;%20the%20sort%20of%20flavour%20you%20only%20get%20from%20cooking%20something%20really,%20really%20slowly%20for%20a%20really,%20really%20long%20time.%20The%20fresh%20tagliatelle%20were%20silky%20smooth%20and%20perfectly%20thin.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThree%20hours%20later%20we%20reached%20the%20sixth%20course%20and%20presented%20to%20us%20was%20a%20bitter%20chocolate%20tart%20served%20with%20one%20scoop%20each%20of%20lemon%20and%20coffee%20ice%20cream.%20This%20delicious%20pudding%20barely%20touched%20the%20sides%20of%20my%20mouth;%20three%20hours%20of%20drinking%20wine%20had%20taken%20its%20effect%20and%20so%20much%20was%20I%20craving%20that%20final%20sweet%20course%20that%20it%20had%20disappeared%20before%20I%20knew%20it.%20It%20melted%20in%20the%20mouth.%20We%20finished%20off%20with%20a%20first-rate%20espresso%20%E2%80%93%20not%20a%20given,%20even%20today%20%E2%80%93%20and%20then%20trundled%20home%20grateful%20that%20we%20only%20had%20to%20drag%20our%20full%20bellies%20a%20couple%20of%20hundred%20metres.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOn%20first%20consideration%20%C2%A340%20per%20head%20might%20seem%20a%20lot;%20especially%20if%20you%20knew%20nothing%20of%20the%20skill%20and%20inventiveness%20that%20regularly%20comes%20out%20of%20this%20tiny%20kitchen.%20Was%20it%20worth%20it?%20Without%20a%20doubt,%20yes.%20These%20were%20some%20of%20the%20best%20dishes%20I%20can%20remember%20eating.%20The%20ingredients%20were%20first%20class,%20skill%20was%20aplenty%20and%20the%20service%20was%20impeccable;%20all%20eleven%20of%20us%20were%20served%20at%20the%20same%20time%20on%20every%20course%20and%20the%20atmosphere%20was%20relaxed.%20The%20chefs%20did%20their%20thing,%20bustling%20away%20throughout%20but%20remaining%20completely%20calm.%20And%20the%20fact%20that%20it%20was%20BYO%20(%C2%A35%20corkage%20per%20person)%20kept%20the%20price%20down.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you%20live%20anywhere%20near%20Shipley,%20or%20you%E2%80%99re%20passing%20through,%20please%20pay%20Creative%20Breads%20a%20visit.%20They%20are%20doing%20wonderful%20things%20and%20we%20need%20to%20support%20these%20independent%20businesses.%20They%20are%20a%20dying%20breed.%20Get%20yourself%20a%20loaf%20of%20bread%20%E2%80%93%20it%E2%80%99s%20fantastic%20%E2%80%93%20or%20treat%20yourself%20to%20one%20of%20their%20mouth-watering%20sandwiches,%20soups%20or%20savouries%20and%20make%20sure%20you%20try%20one%20of%20their%20perfectly%20gooey%20chocolate%20brownies.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20if%20you%20see%20an%20advert%20for%20another%20pop-up%20%E2%80%93%20go.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%E2%80%99s%20a%20real%20treat.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERelated%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
