Ingredientes

  • 1 1/4 lb grnd pork
  • 3/4 c. finely-minced yellow onion
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp grnd cloves
  • 1/4 tsp grnd cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp grnd ginger
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 3/4 c. whole lowfat milk
  • 1/4 c. fine bread crumbs

Direcciones

  1. In a large saute/fry pan, add in the pork and cook till no longer pink, about 3 min. Add in the onions and garlic, and cook for 1 minute. Add in the salt, pepper, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg and cook for 1 minute. Add in the lowfat milk and bread crumbs and cook for 3 min over medium heat, stirring to break up the meat.
  2. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and cook, stirring occasionally, till the pork is very tender and most of the liquid is evaporated, about 1 hour and 15 min.
  3. Remove the lid and cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, till the mix is thick and all the liquid is evaporated, about 10 to 15 min. Remove from the heat and adjust the seasoning, to taste.
  4. Transfer to a decorative bowl or possibly several smaller ramekins, smoothing the top with a rubber spatula. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and chill till well chilled and hard, at least 4 hrs or possibly overnight. Serve with thinly sliced French bread or possibly toasted French bread croutons.
  5. This recipe yields about 2 c. for 4 to 6 servings.
