Ingredientes

  • 2 c. diced smoked ham
  • 1 lb uncooked shrimp shelled, deveined
  • 2 med onions coarsely minced
  • 2 x celery stalks sliced
  • 1/2 x green bell pepper minced
  • 1 can whole tomatoes - (28 ounce)
  • 1/4 c. tomato paste
  • 3 x garlic cloves chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped Parsley
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh thyme leaves (or possibly 1 tspn dry thyme)
  • 2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil few dashes warm pepper sauce few dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 c. uncooked long grain converted rice

Direcciones

  1. In a crockpot combine and thoroughly mix the ham, onions, celery, bell pepper, tomatoes, tomato paste, garlic, parsley, thyme leaves, cloves, extra virgin olive oil, pepper sauce, Wostershire and rice. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hrs.
  2. One hour before serving, turn slow cooker to HIGH. Stir in the uncooked shrimp. Cover and cook till the shrimp are pink and tender.
  3. This recipe yields 6 servings.
