Ingredientes

  • 1 c. unsulfured molasses
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 4 Large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg (optional)

Direcciones

  1. Place 6 c. water into Crockpot and turn on medium heat (this is "low" on some models - you do not want to use the keep-hot setting).
  2. Cream together butter and sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer. Using a whisk off fork, beat Large eggs well and add in slowly to mix. Stir in molasses, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, flour and buttermilk.
  3. Dissolve baking soda and 1 tsp. warm water. Combine well with other ingredients.
  4. Grease and flour well a pudding mold with a tight fitting cover or possibly Crockpot cake pan. If you do not have one of these, you can use a metal coffee can covered with silver foil.
  5. Place in Crockpot and steam four to five hrs or possibly till a knife inserted in center comes out nearly clean.
