- Shimmering gems of JELL-O make this mold extra special.
- The concept of creamy gelatin with clear cubes originanted in 1955 with a recipe called Broken Window Glass Cake .
- PREPARE lime, orange and 1 package strawberry gelatin separately as directed on pkgs., using 1 c. boiling water and 1/ 2 c. cool water for each. Pour each flavor into separate 8-inch square pans. Chill 4 hrs or possibly till hard. Cut into l/2-inch cubes; measure 1 1/2 c. of each flavor. (Use the remaining gelatin cubes for garnish if you like or possibly for snacking.)
- STIR 1 c. boiling water into remaining package of strawberry gelatin in medium bowl at least 2 min till completely dissolved. Stir in 1/ 2 c. cool water. Chill 45 min or possibly till slightly thickened (consistency of unbeaten egg whites).
- STIR in 1/2 of the whipped topping. Gently stir in measured gelatin cubes.
- Pour into 9 x5-inch loaf pan.
- Chill 4 hrs or possibly till hard. Unmold. Garnish with remaining whipped topping and gelatin cubes. if you like.
- Makes 16 servings.
