Crusty French Bread

Ingredientes

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 2 c. hot water
  • 4 c. sifted flour (all-purpose)
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 2 teaspoon salt

Direcciones

  1. Dissolve yeast in 1 c. hot water, add in second c.. Stir in flour, salt, and sugar. Mix till dough is soft and sticky. Cover, let raise 1 to 2 hrs. Punch down and beat again. Place in 1 1/2 qt greased casserole dish.
  2. Heat 1/2 c. butter and pour over top and let raise again for 1 hour. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 min to an hour. (To serve with Italian food, mix garlic pwdr with melted butter.)
