Ingredientes

  • 4 1/2 quart Water
  • 12 ounce Black beans, picked over
  • 10 x Cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp Fennel seeds
  • 1 x Bay leaf
  • 1 c. Minced parsley
  • 1 can (28-ounce) whole tomatoes in juice, crushed with your hands
  • 1/2 c. Brown rice, uncooked Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Black pepper

  3. Cooking Time: 2 1/2 hrs
  4. Bring water to a boil in a large covered pot. Add in beans, garlic, red pepper flakes, fennel seeds, bay leaf and parsley. Cook over medium heat, uncovered, for 1 hour, stirring frequently.
  5. Add in rice, salt and pepper. Lower heat and simmer 1 hour, stirring frequently. Stir in tomatoes and cook 30 min or possibly till beans are soft. Season to taste.
