Cumin Flavoured Rice ( Jeera Pulao )

Ingredientes

  • 2 Tbsp. ghee
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 300 x gPatna rice washed and liquid removed
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 600 ml warm water

Direcciones

  1. Heat the ghee in a heavy bottomed pan and add in the cumin seeds.
  2. When they pop add in the rice and fry till it is shiny (about 3 min).
  3. Add in the salt and water stir and bring to the boil.
  4. Cover the pan partially and simmer till the rice is soft and dry.
  5. Check which the inside of each grain is cooked by mashing one between your forefinger and thumb.
  6. Serve warm with a lentil puree.
  7. Pulaos add in an instant boost to a simple meal and are quite simple to make. This pulao is one of the easiest and adds a delicate fragrance to a meal.
  8. Serves 4
