Ingredientes

  • 2 x Vidalia onions
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. fine cracker crumbs
  • 2 c. white corn meal
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. water
  • 4 c. Crisco oil (or possibly sufficient for your personal fryer)

Direcciones

  1. Slice onions 1/2-inch thick, don't use the very small rings, save those for minced onions.
  2. In a large bowl add in buttermilk and water. Take out rings one at a time and coat with buttermilk, and then flour. Now gently dip the same ring into buttermilk again, and then coat with corn meal.
  3. Drop into warm oil and fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  4. NOTES : These are from the Dairy Queen restaurants in Southeast Texas. All Dairy Queens are not equal, some do only ice cream treats, some are Brazier stores, and some are not. These are not the type from the Brazier stores.
