Receta Dal Mixture
A popular South Indian snack for any occasion.
Ingredients:
- Roasted Peanuts – 1/2 cup
- Cashew Nuts – 30, chopped
- Almonds – 35 to 40, chopped
- Roasted Gram – 1/2 cup
- Horse Gram Dal – 3/4 cup
- Corn Flakes – 2 cups
- Coconut – 1/2 cup, finely chopped
- Asafoetida Powder – 2 tsp
- Red Chilli Powder – 4 tsp
- Garlic – 6 to 8 cloves
- Curry Leaves – handful
- Oil – 100 ml
- Salt as per taste
Method:
1. Heat oil in a pan.
2. Fry the coconut pieces for 30 seconds and remove.
3. Fry the almonds, cashew nuts, corn flakes and horse gram dal separately.
4. Remove and drain excess oil.
5. In 1 tsp oil, fry the garlic for 10 seconds.
6. Add asafoetida powder, salt, red chilli powder and curry leaves.
7. Fry for another 30 seconds.
8. Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl and add salt.
9. Toss well until evenly combined.
10. Store in an airtight container.
