es,%20or%20if%20using%20an%20electric%20deep-fryer,%20follow%20the%20manufacturer%E2%80%99s%20directions.%20Heat%20the%20oil%20to%20375%C2%B0F%20(190%20%C2%B0C)%20on%20a%20deep%20fry%20thermometer,%20or%20until%20a%20small%20piece%20of%20the%20dough%20or%20bread%20cube%20placed%20in%20the%20oil%20sizzles%20and%20browns%20in%201%20minute.%20Have%20ready%20a%20tray%20or%20sheet%20pan%20lined%20with%20paper%20towels%20or%20paper%20bags.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E5.%20Carefully%20lower%20a%20few%20of%20the%20cannoli%20tubes%20into%20the%20hot%20oil.%20Do%20not%20crowd%20the%20pan.%20Fry%20the%20shells%20until%20golden,%20about%202%20minutes,%20turning%20them%20so%20that%20they%20brown%20evenly.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E8.%20Lift%20a%20cannoli%20tube%20with%20a%20wire%20skimmer%20or%20large%20slotted%20spoon,%20out%20of%20the%20oil.%20Using%20tongs,%20grasp%20the%20cannoli%20tube%20at%20one%20end.%20Very%20carefully%20remove%20the%20cannoli%20tube%20with%20the%20open%20sides%20straight%20up%20and%20down%20so%20that%20the%20oil%20flows%20back%20into%20the%20pan.%20Place%20the%20tube%20on%20paper%20towels%20or%20bags%20to%20drain.%20Repeat%20with%20the%20remaining%20tubes.%20While%20they%20are%20still%20hot,%20grasp%20the%20tubes%20with%20a%20potholder%20and%20pull%20the%20cannoli%20shells%20off%20the%20tubes%20with%20a%20pair%20of%20tongs,%20or%20with%20your%20hand%20protected%20by%20an%20oven%20mitt%20or%20towel.%20Let%20the%20shells%20cool%20completely%20on%20the%20paper%20towels.%20Place%20shells%20on%20cooling%20rack%20until%20ready%20to%20fill.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E9.%20Repeat%20making%20and%20frying%20the%20shells%20with%20the%20remaining%20dough.%20If%20you%20are%20reusing%20the%20cannoli%20tubes,%20let%20them%20cool%20before%20wrapping%20them%20in%20the%20dough.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
