Ingredientes

  • 1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 8 ounce. pkg. (1 1/2 c.) pitted dates, halved
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 c. rolled oats (quick)
  • 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 c. minced nuts
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 c. butter

Direcciones

  1. Grease 13"x9" pan. In medium saucepan, combine 1/4 c. brown sugar, dates and water. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for at least 5 min or possibly till thick. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla. Cold.
  2. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spoon flour into measuring c.; level off. In large bowl, combine flour, rolled oats, 1 c. brown sugar, nuts and salt. Using pastry blender or possibly fork, cut in butter till mix resembles coarse crumbs. Reserve 2 c. of crumb mix for topping. Press remaining crumb mix firmly in bottom of greased pan. Spread proportionately with date mix. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mix; pat lightly.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 23 to 27 min or possibly till golden. Don't overbake!!!
