When I make a new recipe I get slightly nervous. What if goes wrong? What if my family doesn’t like it? Will the flavor combos be our thing? So many questions and it sometimes stresses me out! In a perfect world you’d just know your family was going to like it and confetti would come down after the meal was done and you’d be the next rock star in their minds right?
Well, that just might never happen but we can wish cause we all deserve praise and recognition. It’s a hard job coming up with meal ideas ever night and every week without being burned out after a few months, let alone years about years of doing it!
After I filled out my profile the top flavors were Smoky, Sour and Caramlized which is right on, but yet I found it super interesting. After that I was off to find a few recipes that I could try. I loved that they were broken down by categories and I could easy make a meal by focusing on what I needed for it. Plus it was a great way to try some new easy recipes! For my three recipes I picked a Grilled Pork Rub, Mexican Style Corn on the Cob, and Roasted Red Pepper Dip.
The Grilled Pork Rub was a huge hit and my husband gobbled it right down. I also had leftovers so it was simple to use for a sandwich for his lunch the next day. This was a keeper for sure! Since I’m honest we tried the Mexican Style Corn on the Cob and the lime flavor was a little to strong for us so I went back in and marked that it wasn’t a hit and it immediately adjust my flavor profile and my recommended recipes reflected that. So cool!
I also tried the Roasted Red Pepper Dip and I knew the hubs wasn’t going to like it so I just didn’t tell him about it. I, on the other hand, adored it. Loved up on it and ate a ton of it. In fact to get it out of my house I brought it to work! The girls also loved it and thought it was great I was bringing something somewhat healthy and refreshing instead of sweets for a change. It went great with vegetables and pita chips!
