Ingredientes

  • 2 c. molasses
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 4 c. all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp grnd cinnamon
  • 3 tsp grnd ginger
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 pch salt
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 2 Tbsp. grated lemon rind
  • 6 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp. butter

Direcciones

  1. Cream together the molasses, butter, and sugar. Sift all dry ingredients together and mix into creamed mix alternately with lowfat milk. Beat well. Bake in a greased and floured 9b x 13b baking pan in preheated 300 degree oven for 1 hour.
  2. Lemon Sauce Icing:Mix cornstarch, salt and sugar. Stir in water slowly. Cook about 15 min, stirring constantly. Add in other ingredients. Stir till well blended. Spread on gingerbread.
  3. Yield: 12-14 servings.
