Ingredientes

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 c. hot water
  • 3/4 c. hot lowfat milk
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. shortening or possibly butter
  • 3 1/2-4 c. unbleached flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg

Direcciones

  1. Dissolve yeast in hot water. Add in rest of ingredients except flour. Gradually stir in 2 c. of flour. Use electric mixer. Stir in sufficient remaining flour to make dough easy to handle. Should be soft and pliable but not sticky.
  2. Knead for 5 min on floured surface. Place in greased bowl, turn greased side up. Cover with plastic wrap. Place in hot, draft free area and allow to rise till double. 1-1 1/2 hrs.
  3. Punch dough down. Divide into 24-30 pcs. Shape however you want. Fantails, clover leafs, knots are easy and attractive.
  4. Place on ungreased baking sheets or possibly c. cake tins according to shape desired. Let rise till double (1/2-1 hour).
  5. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Turn to 375 degrees before baking. Bake 12-18 min or possibly till golden.
  6. NOTE: For crispier crust spray rolls with water about 5 min before done. The more times sprayed, the crisper the crust.
