Receta Dirty Chai

Ha! Gotcha. Now pick yourself up out of the gutter and let’s really talk dirty here.
Those darn coffee shops. They make such delicious concoctions. I am a sucker for sweet and delicious coffee drinks. Remember, I told you I wasn’t a coffee snob. I just enjoy fancy coffee drinks.
What actually made me think about this dirty drink was a loaded coffee drink I had at a tropical bar in our town. It was a Coffee Diablo. that was mixed with cloves, spices and rum. Yes, rum.
I decided to take some quiet time to myself and create a coffee drink, sans the rum. What I discovered instead, was this Dirty Chai Latte.
Warm and soothing steamed milk steeped with exotic spicy fragrance that wafts enticingly up to your nose. It has the rich, sweet flavors of gingerbread and the coziness of a cup of milk and tea before bedtime.
This was about as high as you can get on the richter scale of flavor.
If and when the weather warms up around here, I think I will try it iced.

12 ounces whole milk four ounces strong brewed coffee ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon ½ teaspoon ground ginger 4 black or pink peppercorns 2 cloves all spice 1 teaspoon sweetener (I used Sweet Leaf) 2 black teabags
Using a mortor and pestle, grind the peppercorns and the all spice. In a sauce pan, add the milk the cinnamon, ginger, sweetener and the ground spices Bring just to a boil. Remove from burner and let simmer 6 minutes Add the 2 tea bags and steep 5 minutes Split the spiced milk between two mugs and add 2 ounces of strong brewed coffee to each mug.
