Don Peppe is a pizzeria located inside a mall in the non-island part of Venice called Nave de Vero, we stumbled upon this place on our first day while looking for somewhere to dine in after our trip from Ljubljana. Nave de Vero is quite a big mall compared to European standards, and it feels like a those malls in South East Asia.
On the top most floor is where you will find its food court but it a different style of food court as the restaurants here have their own dining area, there is also a communal dining area where concerts and other performances are held. %20or%20where%20the%20dishes%20are%20ready%20made.%20We%20tried%20two%20of%20the%20restaurants%20here%20and%20this%20is%20the%20first%20one,%20Don%20Peppe.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20you%20walk%20near%20their%20establishment%20you%20will%20immediately%20notice%20its%20bit%20red%20bright%20name%20together%20with%20its%20big%20wood%20fire%20oven,%20since%20it%E2%80%99s%20our%20first%20day%20here%20we%20decided%20to%20go%20for%20the%20usual%20pizza%20and%20pasta.%20As%20soon%20as%20we%20stepped%20into%20the%20premises%20we%20were%20greeted%20and%20seated%20by%20an%20army%20of%20very%20friendly%20waiters.%20We%20did%20not%20muck%20around%20much%20as%20we%20were%20hungry%20so%20we%20ordered%20a%20couple%20of%20pizza%20and%20pasta.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20our%20orders%20are%20placed%20the%20waiters%20explains%20to%20us%20that%20the%20pizzas%20and%20pastas%20are%20made%20fresh%20and%20they%20are%20prepared%20really%20quick,%20they%20even%20invited%20me%20to%20look%20at%20their%20chef%20making%20their%20pasta%20and%20take%20pictures%20of%20them.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOne%20of%20the%20chef%20also%20started%20to%20have%20an%20exhibition%20with%20his%20pizza%20while%20they%20are%20all%20having%20some%20fun%20but%20it%20was%20quite%20a%20failure%20as%20it%20dropped%20on%20the%20floor%20just%20before%20serving%20it%20to%20our%20tables,%20luckily%20they%20cook%20really%20quick%20in%20that%20wood%20oven%20to%20waiting%20time%20was%20not%20an%20issue%20even%20if%20they%20prepare%20it%20again%20from%20the%20start.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20we%20eagerly%20await%20for%2015%20minutes%20or%20less%20our%20tummies%20start%20growling%20and%20complaining,%20luckily%20there%20were%20some%20free%20sourdough%20breads%20to%20start%20with.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFew%20minutes%20later%20the%20pasta%20was%20served,%20the%20flavour%20of%20our%20choice%20was%20the%20simplest%20one%20and%20only%20consist%20of%20tomato%20sauce,%20for%20the%20other%20pasta%20we%20got%20some%20Frutti%20de%20Mare.%20All%20I%20can%20say%20is%20that%20these%20are%20the%20two%20great%20pasta%20dishes%20I%20ever%20tried,%20easily%20it%20will%20be%20on%20the%20top%20of%20my%20list.%20The%20simplest%20pasta%20with%20just%20tomato%20sauce%20does%20not%20taste%20simple%20at%20all,%20it%E2%80%99s%20full%20of%20flavour.%20After%20trying%20this%20my%20daughter%20was%20hard%20to%20please%20with%20other%20pasta%20served%20in%20front%20of%20her.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20Frutti%20de%20Mare%20was%20equally%20as%20amazing,%20you%20can%20taste%20the%20richness%20of%20the%20sea%20from%20this%20dish%20and%20it%20uses%20the%20same%20tomato%20base%20so%20expect%20the%20same%20robust%20flavour%20from%20the%20first%20one%20we%20tried.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20indulging%20ourselves%20with%20the%20pasta%20the%20pizza%20then%20arrived,%20first%20was%20this%20Mozzarella%20and%20Ham%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eand%20their%20Don%20Peppe%20special%20which%20is%20a%20unique%20type%20of%20pizza,%20something%20like%20a%20cross%20between%20calzone%20and%20pizza.%20It%20is%20filled%20with%20different%20ingredients%20like%20mushrooms,%20meats%20and%20cheese%20not%20mixed%20together%20but%20clumped%20in%20once%20section%20of%20the%20pizza,%20so%20every%20bite%20is%20a%20surprise%20as%20you%20don%E2%80%99t%20know%20what%20filling%20that%20section%20of%20the%20pizza%20has.%20It%20was%20served%20over%20a%20salad%20greens%20with%20some%20prosciutto%20and%20fresh%20mozzarella.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBoth%20pizza%20as%20expected%20was%20good,%20the%20crust%20has%20that%20perfect%20dough%20texture,%20a%20good%20balance%20of%20crispiness%20and%20chewiness.%20Again%20the%20tomatoes%20did%20a%20great%20job%20and%20it%20brought%20life%20to%20the%20pizza.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20were%20really%20full%20after%20this%20dining,%20in%20fact%20I%20have%20some%20leftovers%20which%20I%20planned%20to%20eat%20for%20breakfast%20the%20next%20day.%20I%20never%20expected%20to%20find%20quite%20a%20good%20quality%20pizza%20and%20pasta%20in%20a%20mall,%20I%20am%20glad%20I%20did,%20definitely%20this%20place%20will%20go%20to%20the%20top%20of%20my%20list%20of%20the%20best%20restaurants%20I%20ever%20tried.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20that%20we%20have%20replenished%20the%20lost%20energy%20by%20having%20some%20great%20food,%20it%E2%80%99s%20time%20for%20us%20to%20visit%20the%20island%20part%20of%20Venice%20and%20its%20late%20in%20the%20afternoon%20so%20it%E2%80%99s%20a%20good%20time%20to%20take%20some%20photos,%20also%20the%20parking%20lot%20will%20not%20be%20as%20busy%20compared%20to%20the%20peak%20hours%20of%20the%20morning.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20did%20not%20explored%20the%20whole%20part%20of%20Venice%20this%20afternoon,%20we%20just%20had%20a%20glimpse%20of%20what%20the%20island%20has%20to%20offer.%20It%20was%20all%20incredible,%20definitely%20a%20feast%20for%20your%20senses.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20was%20the%20time%20we%20also%20rode%20the%20Gondolas%20as%20we%20saw%20a%20small%20queue%20of%20people%20in%20one%20of%20the%20stands,%20we%20were%20afraid%20if%20we%20do%20it%20the%20next%20day%20the%20queue%20might%20be
