%20Now%20for%20a%20little%20back-story%20that%20has%20nothing%20to%20do%20with%20bacon,%20or%20real%20jam.%20Well,%20maybe.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20I%20was%20about%2013%20years%20old%20I%20loved%20the%20metal/punk%20band%20Suicidal%20Tendencies.%20I%E2%80%99m%20not%20sure%20if%20they%20can%20be%20classified%20as%20punk%20or%20metal,%20actually.%20To%20me,%20they%20transend%20genre%20labels,%20but%20regardless,%20they%20were,%20and%20always%20will%20be%20near%20and%20dear%20to%20my%20heart.%20They%20came%20into%20my%20life%20at%20a%20time%20where%20every%20teenager%20struggles%20with%20independence,%20and%20really%20turned%20my%20perspective%20of%20the%20world%20into%20something%20empowering%20and%20positive%20despite%20their%20name.%20As%20time%20passed,%20I%20was%20thrilled%20to%20learn%20that%20the%20front%20man%20of%20Suicidal%20Tendencies,%20Mike%20Muir,%20branched%20off%20and%20created%20this%20funk-metal%20band%20called%20Infectious%20Grooves.%20They%20were%20silly,%20goofy,%20and%20like%20Suicidal,%20I%20couldn%E2%80%99t%20get%20enough%20of%20them.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20can%E2%80%99t%20remember%20what%20year%20it%20was,%20but%20I%20saw%20Infectious%20Grooves%20play%20WITH%20Suicidal%20Tendencies,%20and%20boy%20was%20that%20a%20day%20to%20remember.%20I%20was%20on%20the%20rail%20%E2%80%93%20and%20for%20those%20of%20you%20who%20are%20unfamiliar%20with%20metal%20shows,%20the%20rail%20can%20be%20pretty%20brutal.%20You%20get%20squeezed%20up%20against%20the%20railing,%20have%20to%20really%20fight%20to%20keep%20your%20spot,%20and%20defend%20yourself%20against%20crowd%20surfers%20who%20will%20inevitably%20kick%20you%20in%20the%20head.%20When%20all%20is%20said%20and%20done,%20you%20have%20bruises%20on%20your%20hips,%20arms,%20knees,%20legs%20%E2%80%93%20and%20that%E2%80%99s%20if%20you%E2%80%99re%20lucky!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20particular%20show%20was%20at%20the%20Huntridge%20Theater%20in%20Las%20Vegas%20%E2%80%93%20a%20movie%20theater%20turned%20small%20concert%20venue.%20It%20was%20where%20all%20the%20bands%20came.%20They%20even%20had%20the%20original%20seats%20in%20the%20place,%20which%20always%20baffled%20me%20because%20they%20survived%20some%20pretty%20crazy%20shows!%20I%E2%80%99ve%20seen%20White%20Zombie,%20Kyuss,%20Danzig,%20GWAR,%20Testament,%20Sepultura,%20Sevendust%20and%20countless%20others%20there,%20and%20each%20show%20was%20pretty%20wild%20in%20their%20own%20right.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAt%20this%20particular%20Suicidal/Infectious%20Grooves%20show,%20something%20would%20happen%20that%20is%20every%20metal-heads%20dream%20(at%20least%20it%20was%20my%20dream!),%20I%20met%20the%20front%20man%20to%20the%20band(s)%20that%20I%20idolized%20so%20much.%20I%20met%20Mike%20Muir,%20got%20to%20talk%20to%20him%20for%20a%20few%20moments,%20and%20he%20signed%20some%20of%20my%20stuff.%20Stuff%20that%20I%20still%20have%20to%20this%20day.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECheck%20out%20that%20get-up,%20will%20ya?%20%20This%20is%20me%20before%20class%20in%20my%20High%20School%20days.%20%20Tights,%20chains,%20nerdy%20digital%20watches,%20and%20my%20beloved%20(and%20totally%20oversized)%20Infectious%20Grooves%20T-Shirt.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20for%20the%20jam%20itself,%20but%20you%20can%20put%20this%20shit%20on%20EVERYTHING!%20Spoon%20over%20steaks%20for%20a%20little%20punch%20of%20flavor,%20slather%20in%20between%20layers%20of%20your%20favorite%20Au-gratin%20potatoes%20recipe,%20spread%20on%20toast,%20or%20use%20as%20a%20sandwich%20spread.%20The%20possibilities%20are%20endless!%20Just%20don%E2%80%99t%20stop,%20and%20spread%20that%20jam!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOh,%20and%20don%E2%80%99t%20forget%20to%20check%20out%20the%20song%20at%20the%20bottom%20of%20the%20post.%20Cheers!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDon't%20Stop!%20Spread%20The%20Beer%20Bacon%20Jams!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAuthor:%20Natalie%20Wiser-Orozco%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20the%20oven%20to%20350%20degrees%20Fahrenheit.%20Line%20two%20baking%20sheets%20with%20parchment%20paper,%20and%20lay%20out%20the%20bacon%20in%20an%20even%20layer.%20Place%20in%20the%20oven,%20and%20cook%20for%2030%20minutes%20or%20until%20done.%20Remove%20bacon%20to%20paper%20towels%20to%20drain,%20reserving%203%20Tablespoons%20of%20the%20bacon%20grease.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHeat%20a%20skillet%20over%20medium%20heat,%20and%20add%20the%20bacon%20grease.%20Add%20the%20onion,%20and%20cook%20for%20about%207%20minutes,%20until%20translucent.%20Add%20in%20the%20garlic%20and%20cook%20a%20minute%20more.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20in%20the%20remaining%20ingredients,%20turn%20the%20heat%20up%20to%20high%20and%20cook%20for%2015%20minutes%20until%20reduced%20by%20half%20(leaving%20about%20a%20cup%20of%20remaining%20mixture).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECrumble%20bacon%20and%20add%20to%20a%20food%20processor%20along%20with%20the%20liquid%20mixture,%20and%20pulse%20until%20well%20combined.%20Store%20in%20an%20air%20tight%20container%20in%20the%20refrigerator.%20Before%20spreading%20on%20toast,%20let%20come%20up%20to%20room%20temperature%20for%20about%2015%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.2.2807%3C/p%3E){ki
