Ingredientes

  • 2 lb seitan dough from packaged seitan mix Or possibly Homemade Seitan (see separate recipe)
  • 1/4 c. nutritional yeast
  • 1/3 c. natural-style smooth peanut butter Or possibly tahini
  • 1 Tbsp. paprika
  • 1 Tbsp. garlic pwdr
  • 1 x onion, chopped
  • 1/4 c. warmed canola oil
  • 1/2 c. Barbecue Sauce (see separate recipe)

Direcciones

  1. Makes 12 twists. VEGAN (HONEY)
  2. In large bowl, pull and stretch seitan dough; fold in nutritional yeast, peanut butter, paprika and garlic pwdr. When ingredients are incorporated and dough is elastic and smooth, let rest a few min.
  3. Meanwhile, saute/fry onion over medium heat in oil till transparent about 5 min. While onion-oil mix is still hot, mix with seitan dough by pulling and stretching. Pull and stretch till mix is stringy but dough doesn't tear, about 5 min.
  4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut gluten into 12 pcs. Stretch and twist pcs around 12 bamboo skewers which have been soaked in water. Place twists on lightly oiled baking sheet. Bake 30 min; brush twists with Barbecue Sauce and bake 10 min longer.
  5. Makes 12 twists.
