Ingredientes

  • 2 1/2 c. water
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 x cinnamon sticks, broken in half One (8-oz) package dry Calimyrna figs, stemmed, figs halved lengthwise One (6-oz) package dry apricots
  • 1 c. dry tart cherries (about 4 1/2 ounces)
  • 3/4 c. brandy
  • 3 Tbsp. minced crystallized ginger

Direcciones

  1. Combine water, sugar and cinnamon sticks in a large saucepan. Stir over medium heat till sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low; cover and simmer for 5 min. Add in figs and simmer uncovered for 3 min. Mix
  2. In apricots, cherries and then brandy. Simmer uncovered till all the fruits are tender but still retain shape, about 10 min. Remove from heat. Stir in crystallized ginger. Cold. Serve at room temperature or possibly chilled.
  3. Makes 8servings.
  4. Note: Compote can be prepared 3 days ahead. Cover and chill.
