.%20Since%20it%20is%20a%20secret%20club,%20I%20had%20always%20been%20careful%20when%20lurking%20exploring%20around%20each%20new%20site.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen,%20came%20my%20assignment%20for%20this%20month%E2%80%94I%20was%20assigned%20an%20old%20friend,%20Veronica%20at%20My%20Catholic%20Kitchen.%20%20Veronica%20was%20one%20of%20the%20first%20people%20to%20comment%20and%20follow%20my%20site.%20%20(She%20always%20leaves%20the%20kindest%20comments!)%20%20%20I%20had%20been%20following%20Veronica%E2%80%99s%20blog%20and%20admiring%20her%20recipes%20for%20quite%20some%20%20time.%20%20%20%20In%20order%20for%20me%20not%20to%20give%20anything%20away,%20I%20kept%20my%20usual%20habit%20of%20reading%20and%20posting%20comments%20at%20My%20Catholic%20Kitchen.%20%20%20No%20lurking%20about%20this%20month.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo,%20here%20goes%20this%20month%E2%80%99s%20SRC%20%E2%80%9Cgush-fest.%E2%80%9D%20%20%20I%20love%20her%20short,%20concise%20posts%20and%20her%20fantastic%20recipes.%20%20%20I%20also%20admire%20her%20sense%20of%20family%20and%20her%20faith.%20%20%20Her%20tastes%20seem%20to%20be%20quite%20eclectic%20and%20one%20can%20find%20great%20recipes%20(and%20pics)%20for%20everything%20from%20Lemoncello%20%20to%20Venison%20Stroganoff.%20%20%20Her%20cast%20of%20characters%20includes%20%20%E2%80%9CThe%20Hubster,%E2%80%9D%20daughter%20%E2%80%9CMonkey%20Girl,%E2%80%9D%20and%20a%20neurotic%20rescue%20dog.%20%20%20%20I%20think%20I%20enjoy%20her%20site%20so%20much%20because%20Veronica%20blogs%20for%20Veronica.%20%20%20She%20like%20to%20cook,%20so%20she%20does.%20%20%20She%20likes%20to%20photograph%20food,%20so%20she%20does.%20%20%20She%20writes,%20%E2%80%9CJust%20like%20my%20cooking,%20sometimes%20the%20pictures%20are%20good%20and%20sometimes%20they%20are%20bad.%E2%80%9D%20%20%20More%20often%20than%20not,%20Veronica,%20they%20are%20pretty%20darn%20good!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20knew%20immediately%20what%20I%20wanted%20to%20make.%20%20I%E2%80%99d%20%20had%20%20my%20eye%20on%20it%20for%20some%20time%E2%80%94I%20went%20straight%20for%20the%20%20Pesto%20Swirl%20Bread.%20%20%20Veronica%20was%20extolling%20her%20beautiful%20basil%20and%20since%20that%20is%20about%20all%20I%20could%20raise%20in%20the%20garden%20this%20year%20(basil%20and%20sweet%20potatoes,%20that%20is)%20,%20I%20had%20the%20ingredients%20for%20this%20pesto%20bread.%20%20%20(The%20only%20change%20I%20made%20to%20her%20recipe%20was%20to%20use%20tomato-basil%20pesto.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBasil%20and%20a%20bumble-bee.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20the%20water%20in%20a%20bowl%20of%20an%20electric%20mixer%20fitted%20with%20a%20dough%20hook.%20%20%20Add%20the%20sugar%20and%20yeast.%20%20%20Let%20sit%20for%205%20minutes%20to%20bubble%20up%20and%20prove.%20%20%20Add%20the%20olive%20oil%20and%20turn%20on%20the%20mixer.%20%20%20While%20it%20is%20running,%20add%20the%20flour%20and%20salt.%20%20%20Allow%20it%20to%20knead%20for%205-8%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20the%20dough%20is%20finished%20kneading.%20%20%20Place%20in%20an%20oiled%20bowl.%20%20Allow%20to%20rise%20until%20double%20in%20size%20about%20one%20hour.%20%20%20I%20mark%20my%20bowl%20to%20show%20me%20when%20it%20is%20doubled%20in%20size.%20The%20rise%20can%20be%20determined%20by%20the%20warmth%20of%20the%20room%20and%20how%20fresh%20your%20yeast%20is.%20%20%20When%20the%20dough%20has%20risen,%20punch%20it%20down%20and%20roll%20it%20out%20on%20a%20lightly%20floured%20surface%20forming%20a%20rectangle%20approximately%2012%20x%208.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20dough%20has%20risen%20once,%20punch%20down%20and%20roll%20out%20into%20a%20rectangle.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESpread%20the%20pesto%20evenly%20over%20the%20rectangle%20of%20dough,%20then%20roll%20up%20the%20dough%20like%20a%20jelly%20roll.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20take%20on%20this%20bread---use%20tomato-basil%20pesto.%20To%20make%20it,%20just%20throw%20some%20dried%20tomatoes%20in%20the%20food%20processor%20with%20the%20basil.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20am%20pretty%20sure%20I%20used%20more%20than%204-5%20Tablespoons!%20Love%20me%20some%20pesto,%20now!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E(Start%20from%20the%20short%20side.)%20%20%20Place%20in%20a%20greased%20loaf%20pan,%20with%20the%20seam%20side%20down.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELet%20loaf%20rise%20one%20more%20time.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAllow%20to%20rise%2030-45%20minutes%20or%20until%20double%20in%20size.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20425.%20%20%20Bake%20for%2025-30%20minutes%20or%20until%20loaf%20has%20risen%20and%20golden.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20pesto%20broke%20through%20a%20bit.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETurn%20out%20and%20cool%20on%20a%20wire%20rack.%20%20%20Slice%20and%20serve.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20little%20device%20is%20the%20best%20for%20helping%20slice%20the%20perfect%20loaf.%20My%20mom%20gave%20it%20to%20me%20many%20years%20ago%20and%20I%20couldn't%20live%20without%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20serrated%20bread%20knife%20fits%20through%20the%20slats,%20slicing%20the%20perfect%20loaf.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETomato-Basil%20Pesto%20Swirl%20Bread%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20absolutely%20loved%20this%20bread%20and%20snacked%20on%20it%20all%2
