%20This%20Little%20Piggy%20In%20A%20Blanket%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOne%20of%20my%20favorite%20things%20about%20this%20season%20is%20that%20the%20cold%20winter%20months%20allow%20me%20to%20not%20only%20hibernate,%20but%20also%20to%20eat%20my%20fill%20of%20soups%20and%20sandwiches.%20The%20winter%20months%20bring%20some%20much%20needed%20bonding%20time%20between%20myself%20and%20my%20kitchen,%20and%20time%20seems%20to%20move%20at%20a%20slower%20pace%20(sorta)%20in%20our%20home.%20It%E2%80%99s%20a%20great%20season%20to%20experiment%20with%20different%20foods,%20and%20to%20expand%20my%20recipe%20base.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20where%20the%20saying%20%E2%80%9Ceverything%20old%20becomes%20new%20again%E2%80%9D%20comes%20into%20play.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20mom%20didn%E2%80%99t%20make%20a%20lot%20of%20fun%20dinners%20when%20I%20was%20growing%20up;%20probably%20because%20she%20was%20born%20at%20the%20end%20of%20the%20Depression%20and%20my%20Grandma%20worked%20a%20full%20time%20job%20trying%20to%20raise%20three%20daughters.%20Food%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20fun-%20it%20was%20simply%20a%20necessity%20that%20there%20frequently%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20enough%20of.%20Some%20of%20that%20ideology%20carried%20over%20to%20me%20in%20my%20formative%20years.%20By%20the%20time%20I%20was%20a%20young%20wife%20and%20mother%20(while%20I%20was%20a%20good%20cook),%20meals%20were%20serious%20business.%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20think%20I%20made%20many%20%E2%80%9Cfun%E2%80%9D%20dinners.%20That%20didn%E2%80%99t%20come%20until%20I%20reached%20my%2030%E2%80%99s%20and%20learned%20to%20s-l-o-w%20down%20a%20bit.%20One%20of%20the%20foods%20that%20the%20Daring%20Duo%20used%20to%20like%20(thanks%20to%20their%20Dad)%20was%20Pigs%20in%20Blanket;%20hot%20dogs%20rolled%20up%20in%20a%20biscuit.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20sue%20me-%20it%E2%80%99s%20not%20gourmet.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20probably%20not%20served%20at%20finer%20restaurants%20(well,%20maybe%20in%20some)%20but%20none%20that%20I%20have%20seen.%20But%20they%E2%80%99re%20F-U-N,%20and%20you%20can%20get%20innovative%20with%20them.%20That%E2%80%99s%20important%20to%20me,%20especially%20when%20I%20am%20trying%20to%20get%20the%20Fab%20Family%20all%20to%20the%20dinner%20table%20at%20the%20same%20time%20and%20have%20them%20actually%20like%20what%20they%E2%80%99re%20eating.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20since%20%E2%80%98tis%20the%20season,%20I%20took%20full%20advantage%20of%20my%20winter%20hall%20pass%20and%20made%20my%20own%20%E2%80%9Cgrown-folks%E2%80%9D%20version%20of%20Pigs%20in%20a%20Blanket,%20paired%20with%20Tomato%20Bisque.%20I%20love%20a%20good%20tomato%20soup,%20what%20a%20great%20winter%20comfort%20food!%20It%E2%80%99s%20a%20hearty%20meal,%20the%20soup%20rounds%20it%20out%20nicely,%20and%20the%20%E2%80%9CPigs%E2%80%9D%20are%20made%20with%20chicken%20and%20apple%20sausage.%20While%20not%20technically%20a%20sandwich,%20they%E2%80%99re%20a%20wonderful%20alternative.%20This%20meal%20rocks%20the%20house%20for%20taste%20and%20gets%20an%20%E2%80%9CE%E2%80%9D%20for%20ease%20factor.%20I%20have%20tried%20these%20before,%20in%20spaghetti.%20I%20love%20them.%20They%20make%20a%20jalapeno-mango%20variety%20I%20cannot%20wait%20to%20try%E2%80%A6its%20almost%20grilling%20season!%20Yay%20for%20J.C.%E2%80%99s%20mad%20grill%20skillz!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20honor%20of%20spring%20and%20the%20return%20of%20the%20Sun,%20I%20am%20in%20the%20process%20of%20redecorating%20my%20kitchen%20space%20(I%20hope%20to%20be%20finished%20by%20the%20Equinox)%20and%20wanted%20to%20share%20a%20little%20%E2%80%9Cfind%E2%80%9D%20with%20you%20all.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20ADORE%20bright%20and%20rich%20colors%20in%20the%20kitchen,%20so%20when%20I%20saw%20some%20of%20the%20items%20in%20the%20Fish%20Brew%20Etsy%20store,%20I%20knew%20I%20had%20to%20have%20at%20least%20one%E2%80%A6although%20Mr.%20Wilson%20and%20I%20are%20so%20enchanted%20by%20our%20purchase%20that%20I%20foresee%20at%20least%20one%20more%20Wish%20Ball%20in%20our%20immediate%20future.%20I%20have%20a%20very%20cute%20kitchen%20window%20(it%E2%80%99s%20a%20pass%20through%20or%20a%20butler%E2%80%99s%20window)%20where%20we%20have%20a%20couple%20special%20%E2%80%9Cpretties%E2%80%9D%20hanging.%20We%20gave%20it%20a%20place%20there,%20with%20the%20others.%20The%20energy%20surrounding%20it%20is%20exactly%20what%20you%20would%20want%20in%20a%20creative%20space%E2%80%A6warm,%20flowing,%20bright,%20playful,%20alive,%20and%20full%20of%20artistic%20energy%20and%20potential.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20Fish%20Brew%20Wish%20Balls%20would%20be%20a%20welcome%20addition%20to%20any%20space%20you%20wish%20to%20enhance-%20many%20thanks%20to%20Shannon%20and%20Jill%20for%20their%20superior%20merchandise%20and%20top-notch%20service.%20Please%20pay%20them%20a%20visit%20if%20you%20have%20time.%20You%20won%E2%80%99t%20regret%20it!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBain%20sult%20as!%20(Enjoy!)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESaute%20onion,%20celery,%20and%20garlic%20in%20butter%20in%20stock%20pot.%20Stir%20in%20flour%20and%20seasonings.%20Stir%20in%20liquids%20except%20for%20the%20milk,%20heat%20to%20boiling,%2
