Receta Dulce De Leche Ice Cream
I know, I know, I know. Why am I posting an ice cream recipe when September is literally only a week away??
I don't know what the weather is like in your area, however, it is still pretty darn hot over here in Albuquerque. The mornings are starting to get a little chilly, so this does tell me that fall is just around the corner. However, when it gets up to 90 in the afternoons, it is just a reminder that summer is still lingering.
So I decided to try my hand at making this ice cream.
Husband Man isn't a flavored ice cream fan…unless it's vanilla…and only vanilla. However, the kids and I are HUGE ice cream fans and fall in love easily with just about any flavor we can get our hands on….to include this one!
We LOVED the flavors in this recipe. With caramel, chocolate, and pecans…it was great as an after school treat for them!
These came out to have more of a soft serve texture to them but we still enjoyed it none the less. It's the perfect treat to have on a hot day…in our opinion ;)
Make em' for your clan this weekend!!
Dulce De Leche Ice Cream
- (Yields 1 quart)
- Ingredients:
- 1 (12.25 oz.) store bought caramel sauce
- 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup of crushed Turtle flavored chocolate candies
Directions:
1. In a medium sauce pan over low heat, heat caramel sauce until warm.
2. Slowly whisk in the heavy whipping cream until well combined.
3. Remove from heat and add the milk and vanilla extract.
4. Place in covered container and refrigerate over night.
5. Make as per manufacture's directions for your ice cream maker. It only took ours 30 minutes.
6. Add in the 1/2 cup of crushed Turtle candies 5 minutes before the ice cream is finished.
7. Store in a covered container in the freezer until completely frozen.
**Libby's Notes: This ice cream melts very quickly upon it's removal from the freezer. I would recommend consuming it immediately upon serving.
