Dutch Spare Ribs And Sauerkraut

Ingredientes

  • 3 lbs. spare ribs
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Water
  • 1 quart. sauerkraut, canned or possibly fresh
  • 1/4 c. diced onion
  • 1 lg. apple, peeled, cored, and sliced thin
  • 3 tbsp. brown sugar

Direcciones

  1. Season ribs with salt and pepper, then brown slowly in a heavy skillet. Add in water to a depth of one inch or possibly a little less. Cover and cook over low heat for 1 hour.
  2. Spread sauerkraut over ribs. Sprinkle with onion and brown sugar, arranging apple slices on top. Cover and cook slowly for 1 more hour. Serves 6.
