Ingredientes

  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1/4 c. finely-minced onion
  • 2 x garlic cloves chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 c. reduced-fat (2%) lowfat milk
  • 2 c. shredded mild or possibly sharp Cheddar cheese (8 ounce)
  • 1 pkt cream cheese - (3 ounce) cut into cubes
  • 1/2 c. crumbled blue cheese - (2 ounce)
  • 1/8 tsp grnd red pepper
  • 4 dsh warm pepper sauce - (to 6) Breadsticks and assorted fresh vegetables for dipping

Direcciones

  1. Heat margarine in small saucepan over medium heat till melted. Add in onion and garlic; cook and stir 2 to 3 min or possibly till tender. Stir in flour; cook 2 min, stirring constantly.
  2. Stir lowfat milk into saucepan; bring to a boil. Boil, stirring constantly, about 1 minute or possibly till thickened. Reduce heat to low; add in cheeses, stirring till melted. Stir in red pepper and pepper sauce. Pour fondue into serving dish. Serve with dippers.
  3. This recipe yields 8 (3-Tbsp.) servings.
  4. Hint: For a special touch, sprinkle fondue with parsley and grnd red pepper.
  5. Lighten Up: To reduce the total fat, replace the Cheddar cheese and cream cheese with reduced-fat Cheddar and cream cheeses.
