Easy Homemade Ketchup

You'll need a blender to make this easy prep ketchup. It is a tasty alternative to store-bought with preservatives.

To spice it up, add chipotle adobo or chile powder.

Ingredientes

  • 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbs. olive oil
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tbs. tomato paste

Direcciones

  1. Saute the onions in the oil until translucent, add the garlic and saute 30 seconds over a medium low heat.
  2. Add all the other ingredients, and simmer 1 hour.
  3. As the mixture reduces, you'll need to stir it frequently.
  4. Cool, puree in 2 batches until smooth.
