Hearty cookie, easy for packing to ship. A very common Greek cookie, served for Baptisms and when company comes. Freezes well and remains flavorful

Ingredientes

1 Lb butter

3 Cup sugar

5 Eggs
-
1 Cup warm milk

2 Tsp. vanilla

Zest of one lemon

5 Tsp. baking powder

1 Tsp. baking soda

10 cups flour
-
Glaze with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame

Direcciones
- Beat butter until fluffy, add sugar beat a little more
- Mix eggs, vanilla,, lemon zest and add to mixture
- Add warm milk and remaining items, except flour
- Add flour a cup at a time, until dough is soft.
- Knead dough on counter, adding a bit more flour until cookies are easy to roll out into a 5 inch snake, twist into desired shape
- Place on baking sheet, brush with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame
- Bake at 375 for 20 minutes until golded
