Easy Prep BBQ Sauce

I'm experimenting with low-cost, easy to make bbq sauces, and like this one a lot. It's basic and you can add things to it like Tabasco, celery seed, etc.

I calculated the cost of the ingredients at $2.40, making a 1/4 cup serving cost about 28 cents. Makes enough for 8-9 guests..

Ingredientes

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 tbs. butter
  • 3 cups ketchup
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup Worcestershire
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 tbs. vinegar or fresh lemon juice
  • 1 1/4 tbs. hickory liquid smoke
  • 1/2 tsp. yellow mustard
  • 1/8 tsp. ground pepper

Direcciones

  1. Combine ingredients is a sauce pan, simmer 30 minutes, covered.
  2. Strain and serve.
