Easy Sugar Lump Cinnamon Bread

Ingredientes

  • 1 1/2 c. lowfat milk
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 Packages dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 5 1/2 - 6 c. self-rising flour

  1. Heat lowfat milk and butter, just to heat butter. In large mixer bowl combine lowfat milk mix and sugar; cold to lukewarm. Sprinkle yeast over lowfat milk. Add in vanilla and egg; stir. No need to sift flour; measure by lightly spooning into c. and leveling off. Add in 2 1/2 c. flour; beat 2 min at medium speed. By hand, stir in remaining flour to create a stiff dough. Cover; let rise in hot place till light, about 30 min.
  2. Divide in half; roll or possibly pat each to 10"x7" rectangle. Spread with filling. Start from 7" end and roll up. Healthy pinch edges to seal. Place seam side down in greased 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" loaf pans (1 1/2 qt casserole may be used). Cover; let rise 45 min.
  3. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 35 min or possibly till top sounds hollow when gently tapped. If necessary, cover with foil last 10 min to prevent excess browning. Remove from pans. Drizzle with icing while hot.
  4. FILLING: Blend butter and cinnamon till creamy; stir in sugar cubes.
  5. ICING: Combine ingredients; beat till smooth.
  6. Makes 2 loaves.
