Ingredientes

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar, divided
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon rum extract
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground nutmeg

Direcciones

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter, shortening, and 1 1/2 cups sugar
  2. Beat in the eggs and the rum extract
  3. Combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt
  4. Gradually add to the creamed mixture
  5. In a shallow bowl, combine the nutmeg and the remaining sugar
  6. Roll the dough into 1 inch balls
  7. Roll in the sugar mixture
  8. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets
  9. Bake at 400 F for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned
  10. Remove to wire racks to cool
