Ingredientes

  • 1 pkt active dry yeast
  • 1 c. hot lowfat milk 110-115 F
  • 1 c. hot water 110-115 F
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 Tbsp. shortening
  • 4 1/2 c. All-Purpose flour Oil Sugar & cinnamon -- for topping

Direcciones

  1. Suspend the yeast in water. Add in lowfat milk, sugar, salt, shortening and 2 c. flour. Beat till smooth. Stir in sufficient remaining flour to create a soft dough.
  2. On a floured board, knead till smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl; turn once to grease top. Cover and rise in a hot place till doubled, about an hour. Punch down and shape into 15 ovals 1/2 in oval by 1/8 in thick. Heat 3-4 inches of oil in deep fryer. Fry ovals, one at a time 2 min per side, till golden. Drain. Mix sugar and cinnamon; Sprinkle sugar mix over fried ovals, cold.
