English Walnut Toffee

Ingredientes

  • 1 lb Butter
  • 2 Tbsp. Water
  • 2 c. Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 c. Walnuts
  • 10 ounce Lowfat milk chocolate

Direcciones

  1. Heat butter and water over med.high heat. Add in sugar and salt and stir with wooden spoon while bringing to a boil. Boil till it loses it's yellow color and looks white, then fold in 1 c. walnuts. Cook till it becomes caramel colored ( 298-300 ). Turn into buttered 13 x 9 x 2 pan and allow to cold slightly then mark with a knife so you can cut it later. Let cold.
  2. Spread melted chocolate over cooled toffee. Sprinkle walnuts on top of chocolate. Let stand till set, then break into pcs and EAT.
  3. Makes 3lb. of toffee.
